Snowy Saturday!

I woke up this morning to a small amount of snow. Nothing like I thought we would have. I was kind of looking forward to lots of snow. Jeff (my husband) said he would skip work today and take the 4-wheelers out and play. Not enough snow to really have a good ride though. Too bad...he had to go to work. Just a little over two weeks before April 15th.

So we came to the office. My sister-in-law, Danna was here working on her Texas quilt. She and I have set up our own "quilters cave". That is what our husbands call it. One side of my husband's office building was vacant so we decided to take it over and have moved in. We have our sewing machines, cutting tables and quilting machine here and it is wonderful. Lots of room to create.
We have been sewing and watching basketball. Jeff came over for a break and watched the rest of Mizzou and UConn. Wanted Mizzou to win, but it didn't happen.

My latest rughooking project is "A Fall Trio" by Charles Gay. Hooking the background. Also did some wool applique called "Gourdys Gang" by Threads That Bind.

Well time for supper, so better go. Hope everyone is warm and having a great weekend.

It's Monday!!

Well, it is the beginning of a new week. They say we might have some severe weather later today. Hope they are wrong and we just get some rain. Really do need it right now.

My daughter got back from her trip and I spent the weekend with her. We went to the Farmer's market on Saturday morning and then just hung out the rest of the day. Sunday, she came over for lunch and we cut out coupons for the grocery store. She headed home around 3pm and I watched some basketball games, while I sorted through some craft patterns. Trying to reorganize my sewing room. I think it is a lost cause though.

I have been doing some wool appliques as you can see above. Haven't figured out yet how to get the pictures to post in the body of my blog, but I am working on it. Sometimes I am computer challenged.

So, guess that is all I have for now...have a great week and keep smiling...

Dreary Thursday!

Well, our weather has changed again. The past three days have been gorgeous..80 degrees and sunshine. Today it is 50 degrees and cloudy. Chance of rain, which we need badly.

Just thought I would post a quick note. I am working today in the office, so not much crafting is being done. My daughter has been out of town to a funeral. Her boyfriend's grandmother passed away and so they traveled to Michigan. She should be back to work on Friday. I've missed her and will be glad when she is home.

Sunday Morning

Well, it's early Sunday morning and I can't sleep so decided to write on my blog. I have been busy working at my husband's office during the day, so my crafting time has been limited. Hope to work on some rughooking later today. I did finish my turkey project. It is hooked on a piece of wool and then the feathers are proddy. I bought the kit at the Lenexa hook-in from Anita White's booth. It was really fun to do and now I want to try to do some other hooking projects on a wool background.

I have updated my LemonPoppySeed shoppe, so if you have time check it out at:

Winter is back!!

Well, guess winter decided to come back to Oklahoma. We have been enjoying some pretty warm weather for March. The Bradford Pear trees that line the street where my husband's office is are in full bloom..just beautiful. Hope this cold front passes through quickly. Weatherman says we may have a rain-snow mix tomorrow. Hope he is wrong. Have big plans...going to Bernina club with Sandra (my BFF) and then we are going to Purcell to have lunch with Ginger(my other BFF)and then go check out the antique shops. So the weather better just stay cold..we can handle cold.

Had a great time yesterday at rughooking guild. Lots of new rugs completed and new ones started. We had 2 new ladies learning needle punch who said they had so much fun that they are coming back next month. I am posting some pictures of some of the ladies and the shop where we meet. Also some pictures of pieces I have hooked. I am working on a turkey that is hooked on wool and then has proddy feathers. Never done that before so will see how it is going to turn out. Forgot to take a picture of it yesterday, so you will have to wait until I finish to see it.

Enjoy!!!

Whoopee!!!

Well, it has been a week since I last posted. My husband is a CPA and so you know what that means. Busy, busy. My daughter works in the office with him, but it seems they both think I need to be there also. So, I have to make an appearance each day to help where I am needed.

On Tuesday, March 3 I received my new purchase from the Lenexa hook-in. The 16-inch Townsend floor frame. I didn't get to use it until this past weekend and WOW, it is amazing. I just love it. I think I will be doing a lot more hooking now. It is so easy to use. No frame sitting in your lap or on a table and when you need to change directions just unscrew the silver knob and rotate whichever direction you want. I am so glad my husband said it was OK to buy it, even after I told him how much it would cost. So I can't complain too much when I am asked to come in to work.

We have a local rughooking guild that meets the second Tuesday of each month at Country Collections by Hart in Moore, OK. A lot of talented ladies get together to hook, visit and have a great time. We meet tomorrow (Tuesday, March 10) and can't wait to see what everyone has been working on. I am starting a new rug...CHICKS from Rustic Rugs. Hope to finish it before Easter.

Well, it sounds like we might have some weather moving in...thunder and lightning right now..so guess I better get off the computer. Talk to you soon.

Home Again

Well, we made it home on Sunday evening around 8pm. It was a wonderful 3 days and Ginger, Sandra and I had lots and lots of fun making memories.

This was my very first time to go to a hook-in and it was fabulous! My first impression was WOW!!!..these ladies are really talented. There were rugs in all sizes..from small wallhangings to area rug size. The colors were vibrant and the details in the rugs were amazing. I didn't know you could make a rug look like a painting. Simply breathtaking! We met some wonderful ladies, Betty and Robin. They brought their rugs to work on, but we came to shop. There were many colors and textures of wool to choose from. I wanted to buy one of each..but had to try and limit myself. There were wonderful patterns to choose from too. I went away with more wool and patterns than I will probably ever finish, but isn't that the point of a hook-in?

We headed back to OKC Sunday, but not before going to Greenwood, Missouri and stopping at 2 antiques shops we had been told about. We got there around 10am and the shops didn't open until noon so we had brunch at the local Italian restaurant. Actually, I think it was the only one in town. We sat and ate for 2 hours before leaving the restaurant so full we could hardly walk. We spent the next 2 hours looking for treasures. We found some pretty good deals and then left for OKC.

To sum it all up, we had a great time and are planning our next road trip together.

Blessings,
