We arrived Sunday evening in Grapevine, Texas for the Texas Rugfest on Monday. I have never been to Grapevine and was quite impressed. We checked into our hotel and then took a quick tour of historic downtown.
Lots of interesting building and statues to see. We then headed back towards the hotel to find a place for dinner. Ended up at El Fenix Mexican restaurant. Ate our fill of chips and salsa, enchiladas, tamales and of course, sopapias. Needless to say, we were stuffed.Got up Monday morning and had breakfast at the hotel. Grabbed our rughooking gear and headed to the rugfest. We arrived around 9am and found us a table to sit at.
Vendors didn't open until 9:30am so we sat and visited and hooked on our rugs until then.
Several of the rughookers brought their rugs to share with the group. Here are some of the rugs we got to see.
This rug was hooked by a lady that will be 103 years old in the fall. She hooked it for her great grandson and it is called "Little Boy Blue"

We had an amazing day and enjoyed visiting with other rughookers and the vendors. We found some awesome pieces of wool and new patterns to hook.
We left that afternoon headed home with our treasures.Great road trip with wonderful friends and lots of memories.
