Awesome Day at Rock Creek Hook-in in Lenexa KS

We had absolutely the most wonderful day today.  Up at 6am to get ready to leave for the hook-in. We ate breakfast at the hotel and then loaded our stuff and headed to the community center.  We arrived, parked the car, and prepared to stand in line until 9am.

Ginger is entertaining Reggie (rughooker from Lubbock TX. We met her when we went to the Jane Olson workshop last year) I think she was showing us her Zumba moves.

There were lots of great vendors, Black Sheep Wool Designs, Pine Island Primitives, Basket of Wool, Anita White, Victoria Ingalls, Rustic Rugs, Going Gray, Bea Brock, Hollyhock Designs, just to name a few. There were more, I just can't remember them all.

Here is one of the patterns I bought from Pine Island Primitives,

Time to meet old friends and new friends.  We met JoJo from our USAPRIM, ebay group.  Betty and her SIL, Robin, we met last year.

Here are some of the rugs that were on display:

This rug was designed by a 6-yr old boy.

So that is all for now.  We ate lunch with Betty and Robin before they headed back home.  We headed to Liberty, MO to check out some more shops.  I will post those later.  Time to wind down and think about getting some sleep.

We are heading for home tomorrow, but deciding what stops to make along the way.  Have a great evening.

On the road with friends!!!

Well, I haven't posted since Dec 25, 2009.  Sorry about that.  All I can say is I just have been busy with "life".

First of all, my daughter, Ashlee gave us a wonderful surprise at Christmas. I am going to be a "mema" on or around July 15.  She had an ultrasound on Feb 22 and it is going to be a girl.  We are so excited!!!!  Enough about that for now.  More to come in later posts.

Ginger, Sandra, and I left this morning for Lenexa, KS for the Rock Creek Hook-In on Saturday.  I mapped out several places for us to stop along the way, the first being a rughooking  shop in Warsaw, Missouri.  Well, the route that the computer mapped seemed like it took us the long way around the barn, but about 2pm we finally arrived at Saltbox Primitive Woolens.

Well, we walked in and this was Ginger's reaction.  She was in wool heaven!!!!!!

What a wonderful shop this is!!!  The owner, Patty Wallace, greeted us and offered us ice tea and even lunch.  There were ladies hooking some beautiful rugs.  Patty told us the building used to be a garage and then a restaurant and now a rughooking shop.

Wool along every wall and rugs galore on the walls.

There is even a fireplace with comfortable seating to read a book or just sit and enjoy the fire.

Sandra enjoying all the wool and rugs and patterns.  We spent at least 2 hours shopping and visiting.  We finally left sometime after 4pm and headed to Lenexa.  We got into Lenexa around 5:30pm. We had dinner at Houlihans and then headed to the hotel.

We are heading to the workout room for some exercise.

Come back tomorrow for the hook-in report.

Blessings....patijane
